Maths at Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery School follows a mastery approach. We follow the White Rose scheme of learning and the NCTEM'S Mastering Number Fluency programme to help our pupils become proficient in early Maths and to set them up for later success. 

In the EYFS the children explore mathematical concepts through continuous provision as well as taking part in "Mastering Number" sessions. 

In KS1 we use White Rose Maths to ensure complete curriculum coverage. This follows a mastery approach and a spiral curriculum so that key concepts are revisited multiple times. "Mastering Number" sessions continue to build fluency. We also use the NCETM developed animation Number Blocks to help reinforce key ideas.
