Main School Admissions

We follow the Norfolk Admissions Policy.

Further information can be obtained by following this link.

In the event of too many children applying for the places available in the school, the LEA will give preference to children living nearest the school, according to the following rules in this order of priority.
  1. Children with a statement of educational needs naming that school
  2. Children in public care who live in the area served by the school
  3. Children who live within the catchment area and have a brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission
  4. Children who live within the catchment area and have no brother or sister connection with that school
  5. Children who live outside the catchment area and have a brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission
  6. Children who live outside the catchment area and have no brother or sister connection with that school
In the event of over-subscription in any of these criteria, then those living closest to the school will be given priority. To determine who lives closest, the LEA will measure distance door-to-door using Ordnance Survey data.

Nursery Admissions

The school and governors administer their own admissions to the Nursery class but these follow strict criteria. We aim to give every child that applies at least one full school year of Nursery education before entry into the main school but some children may be fortunate to receive a little longer than this. Introductory visits for all children are planned during the Summer Term before admission to the Reception and Nursery classes.

Entry into Reception

  • Children born between 1st September and the end of February may start school full time at the beginning of the autumn term before their fifth birthday.
  • Children born between the 1st March and 31st August, may start school part time at the beginning of the autumn term before their fifth birthday and full time at the beginning of the spring term before their fifth birthday.
